i always liked how in FMA they never REALLY explained how alchemy worked aside from the fact that there's rules like equivalent exchange.

like can any mfer draw the circle on the ground and hold their hands up and turn a block of stone into a bird shaped block of stone? if not what are the alchemists doing that makes it different? they doing math equations in their head or something that let the alchemy work? who freaking knows!
